Otto Hahn Repeats his Nuclear Fission Experiment of December 1938 (June 30, 1962)

In 1938, Otto Hahn became famous for his discovery of nuclear fission. After the war, he was temporarily interned along with nine other German nuclear scientists at the English estate Farm Hall, where he learned that the Americans had dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He was extremely upset by this news and henceforth opposed the military use of nuclear energy and atomic weapons.
