Socialist "Revenge..." (1888)

This painted wool banner marked the tenth anniversary of the Socialist Law for faithful Socialists in Berlin. It calls for “revenge” against those who had prosecuted and otherwise intimidated members of the party, and declares: “Long Live Social Democracy.” It was confiscated by police during a demonstration celebrating a decade of Socialist resistance to the state.
