The Friends of the German Historical Institute Based in Washington, DC, the Friends of the German Historical Institute is a non-profit organization that supports the Institute's programs, particularly new initiatives like German History in Document and Images (GHDI). Members of the group helped conceptualize, define, and give shape to the project in its early stages. They have since assisted in all aspects of its development and implementation.
