Meeting of the Prussian National Assembly in the Singakademie (1848)
Meeting of the Prussian constituent National Assembly in the Singing Academy [Singakademie]. Like a number of other state parliaments convening during the revolution, it was a less revolutionary counterpart to the Frankfurt National Assembly. Nevertheless, it pushed ahead liberalization and democratic reforms until the collapse of the revolution in 1849. Wood engraving, July 1848.
