Citizens' Initiative for Environmental Protection (1980)

During the course of the 1970s, local protests against highway construction, air and water pollution, and the destruction of city neighborhoods in the name of urban renewal gave rise to numerous citizens' initiatives that devoted themselves to various environmental causes.
