"Rock am Ring" Festival (June 11, 2000)
The open air festival “Rock am Ring” [“Rock at the Ring”] is Germany’s biggest rock music festival. Since 1985, it has taken place every year at the Nürburgring racetrack in Nürburg in the Eifel (approximately 55 miles southwest of Cologne). This multi-day event attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year. This photo shows festival visitors in 2000. Over 100,000 rock fans had traveled there to hear about 90 bands. Photo: Frank May.
