Ruins of the Hotel Kaiserhof (1945)
A little boy plays in a pile of rubble in front of the Hotel Kaiserhof at Wilhelmplatz 3-5. Built between 1873 and 1875, the Kaiserhof was Berlin’s first luxury hotel and boasted 300 beds. During the Third Reich it served as a central meeting point for the National Socialist leadership. Berlin, 1945. Print from original negative.
