Children’s Inoculation in the Countryside [Ländliche Kinderimpfung] (1866)

Although communicable diseases proved more difficult to combat in overcrowded cities (with their “rental barracks” and inadequate sanitation), disease in the countryside was hardly a thing of the past in Bismarckian Germany. Woodcut after a drawing by Rudolph Geißler.
