Helmuth von Moltke (c. 1871)
Portrait of Helmuth von Moltke (1800-1891), Prussian field marshal. In 1858, Moltke was appointed Chief of the Prussian General Staff. He earned legendary status as a military strategist for his leadership during the (1866) and Franco-Prussian Wars (1870-1871). Atelier photograph: photographer unknown, c. 1871.
